How It Works:

A bit of theory to differentiate rest of Breeze (RESTful) endpoints from this webhook: RESTful APIs are stateless. They do not retain any memory of past operations, every request is serviced for what it asks for, depending on the request parameters, query variables, or payload, or any combination thereof.

To check for the state of a given request, clients will have to keep polling the server until the desired condition is met and consequent action is then taken by the client. This means placing many many API calls which takes a toll on the client, the server, as well as the network.

To work around this shortcoming of RESTful APIs, webhooks are special purpose connections kept open by the client for the server to trigger a message for. Webhooks are generally said to be "reverse APIs" as the call is placed by the server to the client (as opposed to normal client-to-server flow of normal APIs.)

In this context, Breeze Webhook is a "reverse reverse API", or just a simplistic substitute for Breeze's order placement endpoints. Whenever your code or application meets an order placement condition, it sends the pre-defined JSON string (from Step 2 above) to the webhook URL (from Step 1 above). And that's it! Breeze API does the rest!

Note: There is no confirmation system, for order management you will have to either subscribe to the Breeze Order confirmation sockets, or poll the order book as usual.
